Thomas Gossard

I am a PhD student in Robotics at the University of Tübingen under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Zell and Prof. Georg Martius, in collaboration with Sony AI as part of the Ace project. My research focused on enabling table tennis robots to understand and exploit spin, requiring advances in perception, physical modeling, and control.

I enjoy building complete robotic systems that bridge the gap between theory and deployment, combining rigorous modeling with practical engineering to solve challenging real-world problems.
